Besides for a few small articles on Judaism and Artificial Intelligence, I am working on two substantial projects on the interaction of AI with the Jewish community and Jewish thought. One of those is a secret! But I assure you my cabal of kabbalists are doing well.
My public project - and soon to be an actual book from a real publishing company! - is the Jewish Handbook of AI Ethics. I'd love for help on developing the online resources associated with that book to make it into something actually useful!
Here is some of the more informal writing (more like "thinking aloud") on the topic of AI from a Jewish lens:
Rabbinic Discourse on AI is Upside-Down, Part 1
On how to ask the right questions (and mild complaints about rabbinic discussions on AI).
Rabbinic Discourse on AI is Upside-Down, Part 2
Some thoughts on economic disruption due to technological innovations.
AI the Rabbi?
How LLMs and rabbis don't think the same way, and that difference matters.
AI and Idolatry
Jewish texts on idolatry may prove to have surprisingly useful insights on AI.
AI Ethics as Applied Rabbinical Studies
The challenges of AI present a true real-live test of the Torah's relevance to the modern world. Are we up to the challenge?
It's not just about Jewish law
If we are going to meet the challenge of AI, we will need to expand beyond Orthodox Jewry's conservativism and limited thinking of the past century.
